Nigerian Jazz Prince Etuk Ubong rounds up UK Tour, meets with Jazz Legend Branford Marsalis and others.

Nigerian Prince of Jazz Music Etuk Ubong who just finished touring the UK took to facebook to share picture he and American Jazz Legend Branford Marsalis took together, Branford Marsalis is a 3 times Grammy awards winner who has been cited as “arguably the most respected living U.S. Jazz instrumentalist”

He also met with other Jazz greats like Courtney pineShabaka Hutchings and Vocalist Cleveland watkiss who he also took picture with

Etuk Ubong also gave an insight into his tour..

“The last Gig at the Cable Cafe in Brixton was massive and sold out with an overflow outside of the Jazz Club. The music is well felt and connected to, which is always a total new and unique experience to the audience where ever I played in England with my Sextet says my new fans.

I also toured with Tunde Jegede who’s a Nigerian Born British Kora Player, we played about 6 shows at different cities in England, in which we ended at the Camden Assembly in London.

I started off with Lekan Babalola at the Mostly funk soul and Jazz festival in Birmingham before heading to London for my gigs in which Sofar sound was part of it, Cable Cafe, The Duke , Olivers, with my Sextet which I played with Dylan Jones , Amane Suganami, Tombrapade Robert,Benjamin crane, Same Jones, Ben Vize, Mutale Chashi, James Akers.

I also played with the Afrobeat Ambassador Delesosimi and his band in London. I met with a loads of Promoters and friends of mine in the Uk who are doing great in all their endeavors also had the opportunity to see Branford Marsalis after his gig at the Barbican in London.”
